Crestron: A Day in the Life of a Professor<\/h3>\n

Professors are the stars of this educational show, and with Crestron<\/a>, we gave them a stage worthy of their role. If not well-designed, lighting and automation controls can be a headache, but not with Crestron.
\nImagine entering the classroom and finding a control panel or “keypad” right at the entrance. With a selection of pre-configured scenes, professors can prepare the room for a quiet lecture, an energetic presentation, or a class debate, all with the simple touch of a button. The system is designed to automatically handle 90% of day-to-day needs. Think of it as your Spotify playlist, but for setting the room\u2019s ambiance.<\/p>\n

And if the event requires something a bit out of the ordinary (multiple guests with multiple microphones, several computers for presenting, video conferences with multiple presenters), there are trained operators ready to step in. This means professors can focus on what they do best: teaching.<\/p>\n

The Power of Combining an Interactive Monitor with a 220-Inch Projector<\/h3>\n

Imagine a math professor explaining a quantum mechanics equation. Or a biology instructor illustrating the DNA double helix in real-time while answering students’ questions. Every movement of the stylus (or their finger) is reflected in real-time on that enormous screen, making learning a spectacle no one wants to miss.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s like every student has a front-row seat, regardless of where they\u2019re sitting. Interaction becomes an immersive experience, taking attention and retention to new levels.<\/p>\n

The Acoustic Miracle: Quality Without the Cost \u2014 Reinventing the Ceiling<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s no secret that acoustics<\/a> can make or break an educational experience. Clear sound isn\u2019t just a “nice-to-have”; it\u2019s essential for communication and, therefore, for learning.
\nWhen faced with the need to optimize the budget, instead of sacrificing quality, we went back to the drawing board. In the end, our design team focused on the ceiling architecture, an area often overlooked but crucial for classroom acoustics.<\/p>\n

We changed the original design, which planned for the entire ceiling to be covered with perforated wood, and instead created suspended clouds (also made of wood) with acoustic material above them (invisible to the user). A more efficient design without compromising sound quality. After some testing and adjustments, we not only maintained excellent acoustics but also reduced acoustic costs by 60%.<\/p>\n

Results: Effectiveness Speaks for Itself<\/h2>\n

In quantifiable terms, the integrated technology has proven its value. The high-quality sound system, intuitive automation controls, and interactive display and collaboration solutions translate into an optimized learning environment.
\nWhat was highly motivating for the Schallertech team was that we won this project against 5 competitors who had much more experience than us in these types of spaces. Why then did Universidad del Norte select Schallertech to execute this project?<\/p>\n

The reason was given by Diana Mendoza, Project Engineer who initially worked at Universidad del Norte at the time of executing this project and three years later worked for the Schallertech team. The University chose Schallertech because we were the only ones who saw the project holistically.<\/p>\n

We didn\u2019t just focus on the technology but on details as minimal as the high-traffic carpet we planned to use, which required less cleaning; we cared about how the professor was going to share their knowledge without getting bogged down by too many buttons; we put ourselves in the shoes of the professors, students, and operators, and for each, we had solutions to make their work easier.<\/p>\n
