Art and Light: Contemporary Design in the SB Apartment

DesignLab is proud to present a prominent project that redefines the concept of luxury urban living. This apartment, situated in a skyscraper with panoramic city views, is a masterpiece of contemporary design where sophistication meets functionality. Through a careful selection of materials, a serene color palette, and innovative lighting design, we have created a space that evokes a sense of tranquility and elegance.

The apartment is characterized by its open floor plan, with spacious and fluid areas that maximize natural light and impressive views. The minimalist architecture serves as a perfect canvas for the integration of carefully selected furniture pieces and artwork that bring personality and warmth to the environment.

Wood, in its warm and natural tones, is a prominent element throughout the apartment. It is used in wall cladding, custom furniture, and architectural details, creating a sense of continuity and harmony. From the oak wood flooring to the wooden panels that line the walls, the wood adds a feeling of warmth and naturalness to the space. The type of wood and its finish have been carefully chosen to ensure durability and resistance over time.

Natural stone floors, in neutral tones, complement the wood and add a touch of sophistication. Stone, a noble and durable material, brings a sense of solidity and elegance. A type of stone with subtle veining has been chosen to add dynamism to the space without overshadowing other elements.

Large floor-to-ceiling windows frame the panoramic city views, inviting the outdoors to become part of the interior design. These windows not only provide abundant natural light but also offer spectacular views of the city. The connection with the surroundings is enhanced by the presence of a large terrace that becomes an extension of the living space, ideal for enjoying the outdoors and the views. The terrace, furnished with outdoor design pieces, becomes an urban oasis where one can relax and enjoy the views.

The selection of furniture and decorative objects reflects exquisite sensitivity and a taste for quality. Iconic pieces from international designers coexist harmoniously with creations from local artists, creating a dialogue between different styles and cultures. Each piece has been carefully selected to complement the overall design and create a unique and personal atmosphere.

In the main living room, a modular sofa with sleek lines invites relaxation and conversation. This sofa, upholstered in high-quality fabric, offers great comfort and adapts to the needs of the space. A sculptural coffee table, made of marble and wood, becomes the focal point of the space. The coffee table, with its unique design and noble materials, is a conversation piece that draws attention. Design lamps, such as Davide Groppi’s iconic Moon, add a touch of drama and personality. This lamp, with its minimalist design and diffuse light, creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The kitchen, integrated into the open space, is a blend of functionality and aesthetics. Wooden cabinets with impeccable finishes are combined with state-of-the-art appliances. The kitchen, designed to be as functional as it is beautiful, features all the appliances necessary to meet the needs of the most demanding users. A central island, with a natural stone countertop, serves as a workspace and meeting point. The island, with its ample workspace and integrated seating, becomes the heart of the kitchen.

Art plays a fundamental role in creating the atmosphere of the apartment. Works by contemporary artists, carefully selected, adorn the walls, adding color, texture, and visual interest. The curtains, made with high-quality fabrics, allow control of natural light entry and create different atmospheres. For general lighting, recessed fixtures from Targetti have been used, providing uniform and diffuse light without glare. These fixtures, with their discreet design and high energy efficiency, are ideal for general illumination of the space.

Lighting accents are created with design lamps, such as those by Davide Groppi, which add a touch of personality and drama to the spaces. These lamps, with their innovative design and warm light, create focal points of interest in the space. The lighting of the artworks has been done with high-precision projectors that enhance the colors and textures. For complete control of the lighting, a Crestron automation system has been implemented that allows adjusting the intensity, color, and temperature of the light in each space individually. This system, based on the DALI protocol, offers unparalleled flexibility and precision, allowing for pre-defined scenes for different times of day or activities. With this system, you can control the lighting throughout the apartment from a touch panel or mobile device, creating different environments as needed.
