SB Apartment – Lighting Redesign

At DesignLab, we conceive each project as an opportunity to create a unique living experience where aesthetics, functionality, and technology intertwine to shape spaces that inspire and transform lives. This apartment, an oasis of tranquility in the heart of the city, is a clear example of our philosophy, where attention to detail and a passion for design are evident in every corner.

Upon crossing the threshold, we are enveloped by a serene and welcoming atmosphere where natural light blends with artificial lighting to create a play of contrasts that enhances the beauty of the materials. Large windows frame panoramic views of the city, while translucent curtains filter the sunlight, creating a warm and inviting ambiance.

Lighting, a key element in this project, has been carefully designed with Targetti fixtures strategically placed to accentuate the architecture and highlight the artworks adorning the walls. Recessed ceiling spots create diffuse general lighting, while floor and table lamps provide focused light points, creating a dynamic atmosphere that adapts to the needs of each space.

Contemporary Colombian art takes center stage in this space. Works by artists with vibrant colors and abstract compositions integrate seamlessly into the interior design, establishing a visual dialogue with the furniture and architecture. Carefully selected sculptures add a touch of sophistication and personality, creating focal points that invite contemplation.

The selection of furniture reflects exquisite taste and a constant search for harmony between aesthetics and functionality. Modular sofas adapt to the needs of each space, while coffee tables, with their organic lines and noble materials, add a touch of timeless elegance. Dining chairs, upholstered in soft fabrics, combine comfort with contemporary design, inviting conversation and conviviality.

Technology, ever-present yet discreet, integrates naturally into the apartment’s design. A Crestron automation system allows control of lighting, sound, and climate from a touchscreen or mobile device, creating a personalized atmosphere that adapts to the needs of every moment.

In the home theater, the audiovisual experience reaches its peak. A high-definition Epson projector, paired with an EluneVision projection screen, offers a sharp and vibrant image, while the KEF surround sound system, with Ci3160 series speakers embedded in the ceiling and R Series speakers for more powerful sound, provides an immersive auditory experience that transports viewers to the heart of the action.

This project stands out not only for its aesthetics and technology but also for its commitment to sustainability. The selection of natural and eco-friendly materials, such as certified wood and VOC-free paints, contributes to creating a healthy and environmentally friendly environment. Moreover, the automation system optimizes energy consumption by efficiently controlling lighting and climate.
